Keep Communicating: Supporting those with Aphasia and ALS

Join us for our Winter Virtual Conference! In this course you’ll learn about augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) supports for those who have neurological conditions, such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and aphasia. This course will explore the importance of efficiency tools, how to help someone maintain their unique personality through their communication, and how to communicate with others even when not face to face. Examples of these considerations will be demonstrated with Tobii Dynavox software including TD Snap Aphasia, Communicator 5, and TD Talk.

Learning Outcomes:

Identify three considerations for selecting communication supports for adults with aphasia or progressive diagnoses.

Describe how efficiency tools support communication for adults with aphasia or progressive diagnoses.

List three ways to maintain personal style when using AAC to communicate.

We look forward to learning with you in our live virtual session.

This course provides an opportunity to earn ASHA CEU’s and will not be recorded. If you are unable to attend, check out our Learning Hub for other learning opportunities.
